Leitrim Rose Shauna Murtagh, from Carrick-on-Shannon, will be in action in the 64th Rose of Tralee tonight, as the festival gets under way in earnest. A total of 32 roses will be interviewed over the next two nights by presenters Dáithi Ó Se and Kathryn Thomas. Roscommon Rose Rachel Hastings, from Ballyforan, is part of the line-up for tomorrow's selection night - along with London Rose Glenna Mannion, from Tulsk.
Rose of Tralee fan Johnny Fallon, from Co Longford, says the event remains one of the most watched spectacles on Irish TV.
