A local rescue crew spent six hours assisting people during the warm weather on Saturday. The Lough Ree RNLI say they attended four separate call outs during the day. One of the call outs involved attending the scene of a fire on board a vessel close to Coosan Point.
No injuries were reported and the fire on board was extinguished. The RNLI continue to encourage people to contact the Coast Guard by calling 999 or 112 at the earliest opportunity.
