A local school principal has welcomed news of a road safety works on the N63 in Roscommon. Roscommon County Council are seeking Part 8 planning permission for the scheme near Ballyleague. Submissions can be made until July 10th and a decision is due by July 31st.
It comes after a campaign by local groups calling for speed measures to be introduced on the road. Ballyleague National School students had previously carried out a traffic survey which found 68% of motorists were driving above the speed limit.
