Local politicians clash in the Seanad

Ciaran Mullooly and other Midlands North West MEP's are addressing members of the Seanad ahead of Ireland’s upcoming Presidency of the European Council.

A local MEP has come under fire over claims in relation to the use of Brazilian beef in school lunches. Brazilian beef is set to be banned from the EU from September, unless the country complies with European rules on antibiotic use in animals.

Ciaran Mullooly and other Midlands North West MEP's are addressing members of the Seanad ahead of Ireland’s upcoming Presidency of the European Council. Longford-based Senator Joe Flaherty took exception to the Independent Ireland representative's comments:
