Local family hopes for closure following death of son in Russian missile attack

He was working as a security adviser for the Reuters news agency looking after journalists and photographers reporting on the conflict.

A Lanesboro mother is hoping her family can get closure following the death of her son in a Russian missile attack in Ukraine.
Ryan Evans was killed when an attack launched by Russia last August struck the hotel where he was staying in the Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk.

He was working as a security adviser for the Reuters news agency looking after journalists and photographers reporting on the conflict.
His family reports it took nineteen hours to find his body in the hotel rubble, and are now appealing for EU Commissioner Michael McGrath to help them gain an autopsy report and reveal the injuries he sustained.
