Local customers on ESB priority list criticise their response to power outages

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Longford Man Jim, described how his wife, who requires oxygen support, felt abandoned as they went without power for two days.

Local customers on the ESB's priority action list are criticising the company for their response to the massive power outages caused by Storm Debi. Close to 15,000 homes and business in the Shannonside region were left without power following strong winds from the storm, with several hundred properties still not restored. The ESB operate a priority Customer register that is designed to support the needs of the customers most vulnerable to the loss of electricity supply, including those with medical conditions.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Longford Man Jim, described how his wife, who requires oxygen support, felt abandoned as they went without power for two days. The couple, who are on the ESB Vulnerable customers register say that they received no contact from the company over the repair progress:
