Local County Council recognised at National Age Friendly and Recognition Awards

The 'Sweeter the Tune' Project was developed under the Creative Ireland Programme and funded through Creative Ireland's Creativity in Older Age fund.

Leitrim County Council recently had a big win at the National Age Friendly and Recognition Awards. The event which took place in the Clayton Whites Hotel in county Wexford saw Leitrim's Sweeter the Tune project named a winner. The 'Sweeter the Tune' Project was developed under the Creative Ireland Programme and funded through Creative Ireland's Creativity in Older Age fund.

Leitrim County Council and Leitrim Development Company worked with established older Artists in the county like John McDwyer, Cathy Carmen and Charlie McGettigan and three Active Age Groups through the Leitrim Active Age Forum to deliver the programme. Speaking to Let's Talk today, Alice Dixon who is Assistant Arts Officer with the council said it's important to highlight projects like this:
