A Leitrim councillor has criticised the local authority's response to the housing crisis. Independent Cllr Des Guckian brought forward a motion to yesterdays Carrick on Shannon Municipal District meeting.
He called on council officials to send central government an emergency plea to get funding for 60 additional houses to cater for people in the area. Cllr Guckian says he wasn't happy with the response he received from the council following his motion:
