A special mass will take place in Longford this Friday to honour the memory of Pope Francis.
The Pontiff passed away on Easter Monday morning at the age of 88 following an illness.
It's been confirmed that the Taoiseach, Tánaiste and President will be among the mourners at his funeral on Saturday.
The papal conclave could then meet as early as May 5th to start the process of choosing his successor.
Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise, Paul Connell, said Friday's mass in Longford will take place at St Mel's Cathedral at 7.30 pm.
