North Roscommon is one of the worst hit areas in the country, when it comes to ongoing power outages.

Close to 5,000 people remain without power in the Shannonside region today almost two weeks on from Storm Eowyn.

It includes 2,250 in Leitrim, 2,000 in Roscommon and 500 in Leitrim.

Eoghan Murphy was in Arigna this morning and first spoke to the village's postmistress, Wendy Elliott.

She has been without power, water and phone coverage in her home since the storm:
