Two counties in the Shannonside region have been named as the some of the least Electric vehicle-ready counties according to a new study. Energia's research looked at the number of public EV chargers per 100,000 people and the number of new electric vehicle registrations in 2024. The results were combined into an EV Readiness Score for each county.
Leitrim ranked bottom of the list of 26, with an EV-readiness score of 0. While Roscommon was fourth from bottom with a score of 29. Both counties appear in the bottom five, largely due to lower charger density and slower EV registration numbers.
