The funeral of Gary Lydon has heard of his impact on the lives of his sons. Mr Lydon, who passed away last Thursday aged 61 at his home in north Roscommon. He enjoyed a hugely successful career in films and television, in shows Pure Mule, Love/Hate and The Clinic and film The Banshees of Inisherin.
Mourners gathered at St. Michael's Church in Cootehall to pay their respects. One of the late Mr Lydon's sons James, an actor himself, recounted his father's role in his career:
