Kenny and Tánaiste clash over local mental health services

Earlier this week, a Prime Time Investigates programme highlighted the rapid rise in waiting list for the Central Mental Hospital.

Only 198 mental health patients were admitted to Sligo University Hospital in 2025.

That's despite over 1200 presenting to the emergency department.

The findings come as the government's approach to the mental health service locally has been lambasted on the floor of the Dáil.
