The Justice Minister is being urged to visit Longford Garda Station after the double stabbing earlier this week.
Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s, were seriously injured in the attack on Monday night.
Local senator Paraic Brady told the Seanad there used to be two superintendents in Co Longford, but now there's only one.
