It's emerged that a county Roscommon weather station recorded the highest maximum temperature for 2025 to date.
According to Met Éireann's climate statement for the month, the 31.1C recorded in Mount Dillon on Saturday, the 12th was the maximum temperature of both the month and the year so far.
This was was the second highest recorded temperature on record and 11.5C above the station's long-term average.
Only last month, the weather station recorded the highest tempter for June.
It's temperature 29.6C on June 20th was part of the fourth warmest June on record for Ireland.
