Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the burglary of a home in Longford by a man pretending to be a local Garda.
Yesterday evening at approximately 5 o'clock, a man impersonating a member of An Garda Síochána entered the home of an elderly man in Legan.
A sum of cash was taken in the course of the burglary.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone in the area who witnessed anything suspicious or who has home CCTV footage, to contact them at Longford Garda Station.
Councillor Paul Ross lives in the area, he's urging members of the community to be on the look out and take care of vulnerable neighbours.
