Increase in public order offences across the region last year

The number of recorded public order offences in the Shannonside region increased in 2022. Violent disorder, intoxication in a public place, assault with intention to cause bodily harm and trespass are some of the offences that fall in the category of public order. The Roscommon/Longford Garda division saw 673 recorded offences for the year 2022.

Meanwhile, the Sligo/Leitrim Garda division had 394 public order offences recorded last year. The figures are up compared to the number of public order offences in 2021 however the country was still in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
