Met Eireann says temperatures could soar to 26 degrees in some places.

The chocolate flake shortage may hit 99 sales this weekend as the country prepares for its hottest day of the year this weekend.

Temperatures are set to hit highs of up to 26 degrees this Sunday.

Met Eireann says it will be a mostly dry weekend nationwide, with the best sunshine expected over the midlands, south and east of the country.

Joe Quinn from Quinn's Bon Bon in Salthill says they may struggle to have enough chocolate flakes to deal with the expected demand for 99s:
