The government intends to shut down state accommodation facilities for Ukrainian refugees from August, on a phased basis.

A senator says Roscommon's tourism and housing markets could benefit from the closure of refugee centres.

The government intends to shut down state accommodation facilities for Ukrainian refugees from August, on a phased basis.

There are five centres in Roscommon, housing 139 people.
