A local councillor says the Housing Aid for Older People is falling short when it comes to funding for repairs in County Leitrim. Cllr Ita Reynolds Flynn raised the issue at a recent meeting of Ballinamore Municipal District. She said some older people had experienced a shortfall in grants when it comes to repairs to windows and doors in their homes.
The Ballinamore Cathaoirleach said there was confusion around what was covered by the scheme. She called on the local authority’s Housing Department to clarify the situation:
