Hot spell won't last until bank holiday weekend

People across the Shannonside region are making the most of the warm May sunshine.

Enjoy the good weather while we have it, because it won't be hanging around.

That's the advice from Met Eireann, with temperatures expected to reach 27 degrees in some parts of the country today.

But meteorologist Dónal Egan says the hot spell isn't expected to last until the bank holiday weekend.

Local businesses are reporting a welcome boost in trade as both residents and visitors soak up the fine weather.
