Hopes start-up project could lead to job creation at former power station site

That's according to a local MEP ahead of a meeting with ESB Chief Executive Paddy Hayes this week.

Around 140 jobs could be created by a new company at the site of the former Lough Ree power station in Lanesboro. That's according to a local MEP ahead of a meeting with ESB Chief Executive Paddy Hayes this week. Midlands Northwest MEP Ciaran Mullooly and Roscommon-Galway TD Michael Fitzmaurice will meet Mr Hayes in Dublin on Friday. Mullooly, who hails from Lanesboro, says a proposal has been put forward for a start-up project:
