The Public Appointments Service hopes to advertise for a new Chief executive of Roscommon County Council in the very near future.
Later this month the current CE Eugene Cummins will retire form the role, having been appointed in 2015.
He announced his decision to step down from the role at the end of March but the role has not yet been advertised and it is understood that a senior director of service will take over as interim CE from next month.
Following a query from Shannonside Northern Sound, the Public Appointments Service has confirmed that it received a vacancy notice from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage for the post of Chief Executive, Roscommon County Council.
They expect the post to be added to the pipeline of work to be scheduled for advertising.
