June is pride month and Longford LGBTQ+ youth service is highlighting the importance of equality for all young people in society.

Students across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region are being urged to think before using homophobic language.

According to a Longford LGBTQ+ youth service, homophobic language is still regularly used in schools around the country.

As June is Pride month, County Longford Youth Services are highlighting the importance of equality and safety for young members of the LGBTQ plus community.

Sarajane McNaboe is co-ordinator with C.L.Y.S., she says that even offhand comments can have serious effects on teens struggling with their sexuality:
