Planning permission has been granted for a new housing development in Athlone.
Westmeath County Council submitted an application to construct 67 houses in Coosan.
The project will also include the upgrade of the public sewer and ESB substation.
A Natura Impact Statement was also submitted with the application and has been approved by the higher planning authority.
An Bord Pleanála has granted planning permission subject to a developer's contribution of €77,500.
