Granard signs twinning agreement with Normandy town East Rouen

The official agreement was signed yesterday in the presence of the French Ambassador

A new town twinning agreement has been signed between Granard and the Normandy town of East Rouen.

Granard was founded in 1100s by the Normans and the project has been developed over the last three years by the local town twinning team and librarian Rosemary Gaynor.

The official agreement was signed yesterday in the presence of the French Ambassador and a three person delegation from East Rouan is visiting Granard and Longford town today.

Moira Mahon from the town twinning team says they are very anxious create develop the cultural connection between the two communities.
