The representative of garda officers in Longford is reminding the public of the risks that members face on a daily basis.
It comes as an experienced officer recovers after an incident in the county town on Sunday night in which his shoulder was dislocated and he received injuries to his hand.
The officer was treated at Mullingar hospital and will be off duty for some time.
