A county Roscommon centre for people with disabilities has received a glowing report from the health watchdog.
An unannounced inspection was carried out The Brambles residential centre in January, the details of which have been published this week.
The Brambles is a residential service which caters for up to six children, both male and female, with an intellectual disability.
The centre is located in a rural area in county Roscommon close to a variety of local services and amenities.
Children living at The Brambles were found to be receiving a high standard of care in a supportive and child-centred environment.
Inspectors reported that residents were being encouraged to make choices about their daily lives.
HIQA found that staff members demonstrated a strong understanding of each child's individual needs and were committed to protecting residents' rights and promoting their wellbeing.
The report highlighted effective governance arrangements and noted that the management team maintained good oversight of the service.
Overall, the inspection findings were described as very positive, with HIQA acknowledging the commitment of staff and management to providing a safe, stable, and nurturing environment.
