Gardaí in Westmeath are seeking witnesses to an alleged serious assault and public disorder in Mullingar over the Bank Holiday Weekend. Gardaí are investigating the incident on Austin Friar Street at around 5pm on Friday the 2nd of August. On the evening in question, Gardaí received a report of an incident of violent disorder involving a number of individuals on the Mullingar street.
One man in his 20s was seriously injured and taken to Mullingar Regional Hospital for treatment. Gardaí are also seeking witnesses to a road collision involving two cars in the area at 5.10pm. Anyone who may have camera footage such as dash-cam and were in Mullingar Town on the evening of the 2nd, is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
