Garda centenary celebrations draw to a close in Leitrim this evening

Centenary celebrations of An Garda Siochana will come to an end in County Leitrim this evening.

Old Garda uniforms and memorabilia dating back to the 1920's are on display in Carrick on Shannon library today.

At 7pm this evening Superintendent Paul Maher will give a talk on policing during the civil war which will also take place at the library.

The public are invited to bring along their own Garda souvenirs to the event.
