A local councillor has called for temporary flood measures to safeguard homes in Ballinasloe.
Fine Gael's Alan Harney was speaking following a recent visit by OPW Minister Kevin 'Boxer' Moran.
The Junior Minister met with members of Ballinasloe Flood Action Group during his visit.
Residents in the County Galway town have been waiting for a Flood Relief Scheme since 2009.
It's been confirmed that the works are now due to go to planning next year with construction to begin in 2028.
