A popular Roscommon hotelier will be laid to rest later this morning. Tom Grealy of the Abbey Hotel passed away peacefully over the weekend. Tom was also an Honorary Member of Golf Ireland and was the President of the Golfing Union of Ireland in 1999.
Tributes have been pouring in since the news of his peaceful passing on Saturday - he has been described as someone 'with a great approach to life,' and 'one of life's gentlemen.' The hotelier is survived by his wife Anya, and his children, Tom Jnr, Adrian, MaryClaire and Robert. His funeral mass is taking place today at the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon, at 11am. Tom will then be buried in St. Coman's Cemetery.
