The Strokestown man who died after a crash in Longford town will be laid to rest on Monday.
John Ross, who was in his 80s, was struck by a car on Earl Street on Tuesday morning and was critically injured.
He was brought to Beaumont Hospital, where he was pronounced dead that evening.
Former politician Eugene Murphy, from Strokestown, says he was a "very well known and loved individual".
He says he a "great carer for those around him" and was a lover of music.
His remains will repose in McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown, on Sunday, from 5pm until 7pm.
His removal will take place on Monday to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strokestown, to arrive for funeral Mass at 11am, with burial afterwards in Strokestown Cemetery.
