Funding of over 60,000 euro has been allocated to a number of cultural and arts organisations across the Shannonside region.
The Backstage Theatre in Longford received the highest allocation locally at 45,145 euro while in Roscommon the county's art centre and Moore Community Council received 12,028 and 6,391 euro respectively.
The monies which was announced by Minister Catherine Martin will go towards upgrading and developing each organisation's facilities in an effort to reduce their carbon footprint.

A total of over 500,000 euro has been allocated to theatres and art centres across the country.
