Four people died in work-related incidents in the Shannonside region last year. The statistics have been released by the Health and Safety Authority. The HSA published provisional figures today showing that 58 people died in work-related incidents in Ireland during 2025.
That represents a 61% increase on the 36 who died in 2024. Locally, two people died in work-related incidents in Leitrim last year whilst there was one death in Longford and Roscommon respectively. The HSA say the leading causes of fatalities nationally were being hit or crushed by falling objects, incidents with machinery or vehicles, and falling from a height.
