Former TD Eamon Scanlon says he would be to delighted to see a Leitrim candidate added to the Fianna Fáil election ticket in Sligo-Leitrim. The 70-year-old, from Ballymote, is running alongside Sligo councillor Edel McSharry in a two-candidate strategy in the constituency.
Scanlon had a long career as a councillor, senator and TD before losing his seat in the Dáil in 2020. He says it would've been a good idea to run a Leitrim candidate along with himself and Cllr McSharry:
