Forestry owners impacted by a massive fire in west Roscommon last month say it may not be possible to replant trees. It follows a meeting between Forestry Minister Michael Healy-Rae and a delegation from the county this week. Hundreds of thousands of euro worth of forestry was destroyed in Gortaganny and Carrowbehy last month.
The Minister didn't offer any commitment to providing compensation to those impacted. Senator Gareth Scahill was at the meeting. He says forestry owners outlined the current state of the land:
