Firefighters are still working to control a series of fires in west Roscommon this afternoon.
It followed the outbreak of a major fire in Gortaganny yesterday afternoon which then spread to a significant area.
Some residents were forced to leave the area yesterday evening as heavy smoke enveloped their homes.
The road between Carrowbehy crossroads and Coney Island pub was closed for a time.
Fire-fighting helicopters remain in the area this afternoon as they work to douse forestry and surrounding bogland.
Anne Elwood evacuated her home at The Coney Island Pub late last night along with her three children.

There are calls for the government to buy a special fire-fighting plane to prevent a repeat of yesterday's devastation.
