A well known Leitrim County Councillor has signalled his intention not to contest next year's election. Fianna Fail's Caillian Ellis announced the decision this week ahead of June's local election. Councillor Ellis has served on the council for over twenty five years in the Ballinamore Municipal District.
In a statement to Shannonside FM News, Councillor Ellis thanked the public for electing him in five consecutive local elections. He also paid tribute to his fellow councillors, his family and the staff and management of Leitrim County Council.
