This is the latest step in efforts to try and identify the remains of the children who died at the Mother and Baby home between 1925 and 1961.

Excavation begins on the site of the mass burial ground where up to 800 babies and children are buried in Tuam in Co. Galway. A 2.4 metre high wall will be constructed around the perimeter of the land in question.

This is the latest step in efforts to try and identify the remains of the children who died at the Mother and Baby home between 1925 and 1961. Historian, Catherine Corless says it could take up to two years before any remains are identified:
