A special event is taking place this weekend to honour a Lanesboro priest who became one of Rome's top archaeologists.
Fr Joseph Mullooly travelled from Longford to the Italian capital in the 1800s.
A lecture on his achievements is taking place in St Mary's Church in Lanesboro on Sunday at 3 o'clock.
