Top European politicians had a positive meeting in Dublin yesterday evening about the €5bn masterplan for Athlone. Members of the European Parliament's housing committee held talks with the Ballymore Group.
Under their vision, Athlone would have a population of 100,000 people by 2040, with 20,000 zero-carbon homes. Local MEP Ciaran Mullooly says there was a good presentation from the Ballymore Group at the meeting:
