Driving test waiting times in the Shannonside region remain high, despite a drop in certain areas.
While the average wait time is six and nine weeks in Roscommon and Leitrim, respectively, candidates have to wait on average, 16 weeks for a test in Longford.
The figures are contained in a report by road safety group, Parc which shows Roscommon as the best county for a speedy test booking.
More than 11,000 motorists in Ireland are still driving on learner permits after more than 20 years.
