It follows a public meeting last night to discuss a Department of Integration proposal to expand refugee accommodation at the site.

A spokesperson for the Department confirmed that the facility is currently being used to accommodate 26 people fleeing the war in Ukraine.

The centre was home to The Cuisle Accessible Holiday and Respite Care centre until it closed in 2019 and now provides accommodation for Ukrainian refugees.

People from across the region are being invited to join members of the Roscommon Ukrainian Community at Donamon Castle this afternoon from 1 o'clock.
