TII have refuted claims the crossing on the N5 was a high-collision location.

A community activist in Strokestown says he disagrees with Transport Infrastructure Ireland's assessment of Scramogue Cross.

Rory Doyle, who grew up in the Scramogue area, says he's seen a number of accidents at the junction.

It follows a statement by TII which refuted claims the crossing on the N5 was a high-collision location.

The state agency said road markings and signage are consistent with current requirements.
