The design of the 20-million-euro sports complex in Carrick-on-Shannon will go to tender in the next 10 days. It will include an athletics track, an AstroTurf pitch, and a standard grass pitch on the Castlecara Road.
It will also have a state-of-the-art indoor sports hub, called the Shannonside Peace Arena. The project's chairperson, Brendan Lowe, believes it will be complete within three years:
