There has been a decrease in car registrations in the Shannonside region for the first 4 months of 2025. According to a new report from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry, Roscommon, Leitrim and Longford are three of six counties which have experienced a decline in registrations this year. There has been 667 registrations in Roscommon from January to April which is a decrease of 2.5% on the same period last year.
Meanwhile, there has been 334 in Longford which is a 3.2% decrease and 286 in Leitrim which is down 2.7% compared to last year. SIMI Director General, Brian Cooke says whilst there was a decrease in the region, registrations are up nationally:
