South Roscommon councillors have expressed their disappointment at plans for a new Lidl Supermarket in Monksland being turned down. Roscommon County Council says a new store in Monksland would have been too car-dependent for shoppers.
The decision to turn down the application was raised at today's Athlone Muncipal District meeting. Fine Gael Councillor Valerie Duffy says there's huge disappointment in the area:
