There's been a significant development in the row over the public enhancement of Ballaghaderreen.
Roscommon County Council is offering to keep eight car parking spaces in Ballaghaderreen town centre - in an effort to solve the issue that's seen major public protests.
Businesses have been highlighting their opposition over the past three weeks over the loss of 47 car parking spaces.
As part of the plans the local authority says they will improve access, lighting, security and signage for the nearby 72-space Plots carpark
The council also says it will develop a 50-space car park in the Plots, 60 metres from the town centre.
The 4.5 million euro plan is around 40 per cent complete.
Roscommon County Council is appealing to the local community to support the works and avoid what they say will be unnecessary and costly delays to the construction programme.
