Contracts have been signed for a long awaited Roscommon road project.
The contract for the construction of the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge road was awarded to Wills Bros. Ltd of Foxford, Co.Mayo. The project replaces 35km of single-carriageway road and involves the completion of a missing link on the Dublin to Westport route. The new road will bypass Frenchpark, Bellanagare, Tulsk and Strokestown and is expected to cost in the region of €450 million Contracts for it's construction were officially signed at the Roscommon County Council Offices today.
The contract will last for 4 years and it's expected the route will be substantially completed by October 2027.
